SPA-LA-LA
I know there aren't a lot of spas on this site but at least the (now) two featured herein are incredibly spacious and lush. So without further ado, I welcome NYC SPA, what no doubt has to be one of New York's fanciest and best. Located in Midtown 30's, descend one flight to an Asian utopia and witness heaven on earth. Friendly receptionist? Friendly girls? How can you miss? Check it out! This is no just-opened fly-by-night outfit. They've been around for a while...and I've never seen anyplace nicer. And by the way, the girl pictured is not real. Spa girls don't take pictures.

Is this place f/s or r/t??
ReplyDeleteYou probably know spas better than I do.
DeleteWhat can one expect at a spa, compared to a KMP? I'd like to hit a place where I can have a drink, get a good massage, and FS from a selection of diverse, attractive women. Do the spas listed on this site fit the bill, and what is the cost?
ReplyDelete$Bill holds his cards close... but just looking at the competition that also shows on this blog, one could get a general sense, if no specific details are given. I may check it out, what is the worst that can happen ?
ReplyDeleteA Spa, The most memorable spa that I have been in was the Solarium in Rio. You check in, get a locker number and key and a robe. Everything is charged to that and you pay on your way out the door. You change into the robe and lock everything else up.
ReplyDeleteDownstairs near where you come in there are showers, sauna, steam room.
Upstairs is a bar where you can get a drink and mingle with the ladies. It didnt take me very long to be unable to turn down an offer. Then you go to a private room. When done you can take another shower and go for another round. I chose to take off. It wasnt cheap, I think around $260 grand total, about 3 years ago.
NY Health Spa is a 'legit' spa or rather a real spa that also offers something extra & as far as I know it is only HE, so it qualifies as a R&T. If you want more, you will have to go elsewhere. My review written below is from March 2012.
ReplyDeleteThey have a waiting lounge, locker room, sauna, steam room, standing shower, table shower and real private massage rooms with lockable doors. You pay at the end to the desk clerk. You tip in the clear transparent plastic cash-bag with the girl's name on it. As I said, HE plus minimal roaming OTC is what is offered. NYHS is expensive compared to cut throat China Town AMPs but it is clean & professional and doesn't make me feel skeeved out, scared about LE, or getting mugged.
If it is busy you might have to wait in their lounge area. They have a couch and a TV. I had to wait there until the desk lady was free to attend to me. I was shown into the locker room & given a locker with a key. This is a full size locker so it would accommodate me if I had bulky personal stuff like a computer bag & a winter coat. You are given a towel, robe & slippers. If it is busy then you might run into other guys. It was not busy when I went & I only saw 1 other guy and that was toward the last 5 minutes in the place.
The workers have a uniform of sorts. They dress in white jeans/pants and white tops. I believe all the ladies are Korean, mid 20s-mid 30s & very friendly. Their English is good so you can let them know if you want to do anything in a certain order. Sauna, standing shower, then massage. Or skip the steam room, go table shower, then massage, etc. I took them up on the offer for the sauna & it was great. It was set to about 180 degrees and got me plenty hot & sweaty. I toweled off, robed up, & then met Suzie (pronounced by her as Sue-Gee). She is probably low 30s petite, cute & fit Korean lady.
As of March 2012, it was $80 for real massage session + tip.
cheers,
BR
Thanks
DeleteIf there was ever a spa to visit in NY, hand down it was/is Aura on 33rd st. If you walk in blank you may be disappointed, get referred and it's on. One of the best in NY, lockers, sauna, bar, private and very clean.
